Audrey and I spent some time taking on BDubs’s with our own version of traditional buffalo wings. We made our own dipping sauce, buffalo hot sauce, and served it with celery, salt & vinegar chips, and classic cole slaw.

Dipping sauce ingredients are as simple as mixing ranch dressing and gorgonzola cheese. Feel free to use bleu cheese if you can’t find any gorgonzola at your local grocery store.

Next we cut the celery, bringing the pieces to a manageable size in an effort to preserve some sense of dignity as we prepared to chew through chicken flesh soaked in butter.

At this point our stomachs were rumbling, Audrey was giving me the look.

Still have plenty of time to go! We covered the chicken in pepper and garlic and popped them into the oven. For the sauce, we mixed the following:

  • 1 Whole stick of butter
  • 1 Tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 bottle of Franks Red Hot Sauce

Now that the sauce is simmering we are ready to place it into the oven. Our bellies are rumbling!Putting the chicken in the oven

In it goes!

And out it comes.

All in all, we spent about an hour making the buffalo wings, setting the table and writing this post. Not bad for a Saturday night!
